Replace an Elastic IP

2025-11-25 03:45:23

Prerequisites

The ECS has been bound to an EIP;

A new Elastic IP has been purchased, for details, see Applying for an EIP.

Procedure

When your ECS needs to be bound to an EIP during use, you need to unbind the current elastic IP first, and then bind a new one.

Unbind the current Elastic IP

1. Go to the cloud server console and click the Elastic Cloud Server button in the product and service list.

2. In the list of cloud servers, locate the cloud server from which you want to unbind the elastic IP and click on the server name to go to the cloud server details page.

3. Find the elastic IP, click the Unbind button in the Action column, and click OK in the pop-up prompt box to complete the unbinding.

Bind the new Elastic IP

1. Enter the console and click the Elastic IP button in the service list.

2. Locate the new elastic IP address to be bound in the Elastic IP list, and click the Bind button in the Action column.

3. In the pop-up window, if you need to bind the cloud server, select One-to-one Mapping.

4. In the resource list in the pop-up window, select the host resource that needs to be bound, and then click OK to complete the binding.

5. After binding, you can see that the new elastic IP has been bound in the details of the Elastic Cloud Server.

Note

If the billing method and expiration time of the elastic IPs and the cloud resource are inconsistent, one of them may expire and affect the overall business. For resource that is subscribed on a yearly or monthly basis, you need to pay special attention to the expiration time of resource and renew it before expiration. For pay-as-you-go resources you need to pay attention to the account balance and recharge in time before the balance is exhausted.
