Elastic Cloud Server

Image Overview

Cloud server image is a template of pre-configured operating system and software environment, which is used to create cloud server instances. It contains information about the operating system, pre-installed software, system configuration and security updates, providing users with a rapidly deployable and reliable basic environment. By using the cloud server image, users can quickly start a cloud server instance that meets their requirements without having to configure the operating system and software.

The product associated with this section is image management service. For details, see Introduction to Image Management Service. For related restrictions and limitations, see Restrictions and Limitations on Image Management Service.

Public Images

Public image is an image management service provided by cloud vendors to all users, covering a wide range of popular operating systems. These images are legitimately licensed, and you can configure and deploy them to meet the specific needs of your application environment.

The wide applicability and high stability of public images enable users to quickly launch and deploy cloud server instances and build their own application environments on top of them. You don't need to worry about operating system licensing and stability, so you can focus on developing and deploying your applications.

Billing of Public Images

Some public images are charged, such as Windows2019-DataCenter-GRID13.2 image of the GPU cloud server, while the other public images are free.

Private Image

Private images are images customized by users based on their own needs and are only visible to that user. Users can create private images in two ways: one is to create them based on existing Elastic Cloud Servers, and the other is to import the images from the offline environment to the region where the Elastic Cloud Servers are located. Private images are highly flexible and can meet the personalized needs of users.

Billing of Private Images

· Create system disk image and data disk image through cloud server: Free of charge.

· The system disk image and data disk image are stored in the ZOS bucket, but they are not the user's private bucket and are not visible to the user. The management and maintenance of the image must be achieved through the image service. Currently, this part of the storage is free for users to use.

· Create system disk image, data disk image or ISO image from image file: Charge for storage of image file in ZOS bucket.

· Create full-ECS image: The fee involved is that of the backup repository. To create a full-ECS image through the cloud server, you need to use the backup repository, and pay for it.

Billing Standard

Upload external image files to ZOS bucket

Storage fees are charged at the standard rate for ZOS services, and it is recommended that image files that are no longer in use be deleted in time.

Create cloud server using system disk image or full-ECS image

The system disk image or full-ECS image itself is not charged, and the EVS fee corresponding to the disk capacity of the image is charged according to the EVS service standard. For example, when creating cloud server using the full-ECS image (including a 40GB system disk and a 100GB data disk), EVS fees are charged based on the total capacity of the system disk and data disk. Assuming that the EVS billing standard is ¥0.00049/hour/GB, then the EVS charged is ¥0.0686/hour.

Export image

The exported images will be charged according to the ZOS space occupied.

Shared Image

Shared images are pre-configured templates of operating system and software environment that users can share and reuse, which avoids repetitive operations and configuration work. When one user creates an image that meets specific requirements, other users can quickly obtain the same configuration environment through sharing, which improves deployment efficiency and maintains consistency. By shared images, users can utilize cloud computing resources more efficiently and speed up application deployment and development.

Billing of Shared Image

System disk images and data disk images shared by others: Free of charge.
