Unsubscription & Freezing Issues

2026-03-24 03:38:56

Under what circumstances will an ECS be frozen, and what should I do after it is frozen?

If you do not renew or top up your account in time after purchasing the eSurfing cloud product, all the pay-as-you-go resources under your account will be frozen after your account is in arrears, and corresponding notifications will be sent to you by SMS message and email. We suggest that you manually renew the instance as soon as possible; otherwise, the data stored in the ECSs will be deleted and the cloud server resources will be released after 15 days of expiration.

When the cloud server resources are frozen, you can unfreeze the resources by renewing or topping up your account to restore the normal use of the cloud servers.

Cloud servers frozen in arrears are allowed to be renewed, released, or deleted. Unsubscription cannot be initiated for expired subscription-based ECSs, but you can unsubscribe from the unexpired subscription-based ECSs.

  • When the resource is frozen: the resource is restricted from access and use, interrupting your business.

  • When the resource is unfrozen: the resource is unrestricted, but you need to check and restore service on your own.

  • When the resource is released: the resources is released, and the data stored in the resource is deleted and cannot be retrieved.

How can I unsubscribe from an ECS?

Only subscription-based ECSs support unsubscription. You need to shut down the cloud server first. After you shut down the cloud server, click More > Unsubscribe in the Operation column. On the pop-up page, click OK to complete the unsubscription.

Note:Unsubscription will lead to resource reclamation and cleanup, and the data on the cloud server will not be recovered. Therefore, please back up your data before unsubscribing.Pay-as-you-go cloud servers do not support unsubscription.

If an expired resource is renewed, how is the renewal cycle calculated?

If the resource is renewed after entering the frozen state, the renewal cycle of all resources starts at the time when the resource is unfrozen. For example, if User A subscribed to an ECS billed by the monthly subscription cycle for 1 month on April 1, 2020, the resource expired on April 30, 2020. If User A renewed the subscription for 1 month on May 10, 2020, the new resource expired on June 10. In order to ensure that your business is not affected, please renew your subscription before it expires.

Do you support account balance change reminders?

Yes. eSurfing Cloud supports account balance change reminders. When your account balance changes, the system will automatically send you email and SMS notifications to remind you to stay informed about your account balance. These notifications involve account balance adjustment, account top-up, customer top-up online, etc., allowing you to keep abreast of changes in your account.

In addition to account balance change reminders, eSurfing Cloud also allows you to view your bills. You can view your bills in the Billing Center console, including the billing overview, billing statement, and billing details. These bills provide detailed billing information to help you better understand your cloud service consumption and costs. You can also export your billing data as needed for more detailed analysis and reconciliation. For detailed operations, see View Bills.

How do I stop billing for an ECS?

Pay-as-you-go ECSs are billed according to the usage duration, and resources such as EVSs (including system disks and data disks), public EIPs, and bandwidth that are bound to the ECSs are billed according to the billing modes for their respective products. If you no longer use the product and need to stop billing completely, just delete it.

Subscription-based ECSs are paid upon purchase at one time, and the billing will automatically stop when the ECSs expire. If you want to unsubscribe before the expiration date, eSurfing Cloud now supports seven-day unconditional full unsubscription, non-seven-day unconditional unsubscription, and unsubscriptions in other conditions. For details, see toUnsubscription Procedure and Unsubscription Rules.
